What does this mean to you?

He smoked like a lot of pot its not all gonna make sense

it means that there's lots more to life, in particular a 'rich, full' life than simple material wealth.

They are empty shells, thinking their money will buy them happiness.

this assigns the meaning of "wealth" to experiences and relationships, not money. Which forces us to look at money as just paper, and less meaningful than experiences in life, which makes rich people who only care about money seem poor. or something like that.

No love, no sex, no joy, no happiness, emptiness in soul, no kindness, no compassion...just "paper" that brings none of that.

Some people think the focus on life is only to squire more money but there is other things you can enjoy

since the best things in life aren't things, they may be saddled for the future with a lot of "paper".

That is just the kind of deprivation I'd love to subscribe to.

They're empty husks. Zombies walking around in this world of ours.

We are rich not by what we own but by what we can do without.
