What are some good techniques for controlling anger?

I erupt too easily and the littlest things set me off and it’s like something is physically weighing on my brain and I can’t seem to think about anything positive.

Clench your teeth together and don't allow words to escape. I have done that for many years. I used to try leaving, too, and going for a walk, or a drive, but sometimes you don't have that option.
