So my 9 year old has been doing her hair a lot lately and she damaged it real bad. I had to cut it because she cut it pretty bad and I didn’t make it

any better so we had to shave her real low. I feel bad.
Hopefully she doesn’t do it again

At least it was all a mishap. My mother had my hair chopped off at that age just because she decided it was too much trouble to help me brush and comb it. The teasing I got in school was awful. I had pretty blond hair and I felt mutilated.

@greenmountaingal Sorry you got that teasing.

Sorry you had to go through this. I’m glad this was not my reason to cut her hair . My goal is to never damage my kids to hurt them or make them go through a phase because of evil in my heart @germanshepard

Haha women think damged hair is permanent but they forget that it just grows back. Us men don’t use such verbal terms because we often don’t grow it as long. Even if you damage a certain length of that strand there’s still more available if you simply cut it off. A new strand will grow.

How long? Kids are bullies at her school I don’t want anyone bullying her@HermannFegelein

@MrsCurious That makes sense of course. I think even if it’s short you can find a nice look for her. One trip to an awesome hairstylist is all it takes sometimes. Who knows maybe other girls are simply jealous of her new look. Personally I remember when I was in grade school some girls would rock the shorter hair styles. Gotta work with what you got at the moment. It sucks that other kids can’t be nice.

My daughter did that when she was four. She was so sad afterwards she never dared to do it again...

Hopefully she just leaves it alone once it grows back she says she like it’s but I don’t think she does her actions says otherwise. I’m trying to be calm and nice about it and tell her she’s beautiful but she really don’t like it @Uncle

I know I just feel bad for her. But I keep telling leave your hair ALONE! And my moms like hide the scissors and I’m like okay then she found clippers . Never thought this would happen @germanshepard

I think lots of kids do that at that age, she will grow it all back.

Take her to the salon and get a pixie cut. Then invest in damaged hair treatments.
MrsCurious · 26-30, F
See it’s so short I can’t even do a pixie @SW-User

She’s just gotta own that look. Plus it’s a cool experience not everyone shaved their head in their life
