Sometimes it’s a communication style to encourage deeper conversation whereas closed answers are a dead end. However, this depends on the subject matter

@NoYou maybe she's multitasking. Or bad at texting. Or maybe you are putting too much pressure on it? Could be a lot of things. You could always ask if it's a bad time.
