Single moms? What do you all do to be able to work and have a babysitter while you work?

How are y’all maintaining?

That was about the hardest thing about working when my daughter was young.

You do? I’m shocked. So in effect, we must pay the government to eat, and remain alive. They will find a way to tax us for breathing next. Maybe that’s the carbon tax. @cherokeepatti

@Carissimi You hit that nail on the head. The carbon tax is a way of controlling everything that we do or consume.

I feel resentful when I realize how little freedom we actually have. We keep thinking it’s just income taxes and state taxes, but it’s everything we do, and use. @cherokeepatti

Looking back, it was a bad decision, on my part, to work full-time as a single mother. It was stressful for me, and I missed out on “being there” for my children. Even when I was there, I really wasn’t because I was so tired. If you can make it without working outside the home, or just work part-time, then choose this.

Well, this was very hard for me to manage. I had no babysitter and so I had to take my son to my work and later often to university (this was very boring for him and certainly not ideal at all for a baby and little child but I had no choice).

I used day care not a babysitter. When they were in elementary, I used before/after school care. At the beginning it was a struggle. But, you do what you have to do. I didn't have another option.
