Guys are not selected for being good-looking. WOMEN ARE selected for being good-looking.
Guys are selected for being DOMINANT and CONVENTIONAL. Men achieve dominance by being physically impressive and intimidating, well-dressed, rich, vocationally and academically successful, cunning, and confident. You are clueless and lacking in confidence (as well you should be as you have not been sufficiently successful to be confident). However, you are not one of those stupid guys who is too dumb to know when they should not be confident nor one of those phonies who fakes confidence. Anyway the women are poor judges of competence, skills, and knowledge, but good judges of social proof and confidence and they will avoid and treat you with contempt for your obvious lack of confidence alone.

@Crazychick Am familiar with Manchester. It was know for textiles and clog dancing. The latter part of the name is derived from Caster, castri, -orum, the Latin word for camp or fortification, a second declension er-noun, which is generally only used in the plural form.
