Why don’t people in zombie movies simply just move to an island?

Or just kill them all. How hard can it be? They are dumb as dirt and unlike hunting deer etc the dumb fucks come to you.

Because there eventually is just an island of zombies. And who really wants to go there? Btw, can zombies swim?

Well, I can see how that would be hard for people who live far away from any coastline, but as someone who lives on the coast, I have no idea why that hasn't been done.

Aw come on you know how this works..Zombies would highjack a helicopter/mutate into flying or underwater zombies and the film ends the same way.

Because the zombies exist everywhere in the movies. And yes, some swim. Hi, baby.

Because then it becomes a zombie videogame known as Dead Island.

The problem is that aside from dodging zombies you also have to have food and fresh water. Depending on climate you might not have food most of the year. How do you manage who can and cannot enter the island? What an infected person does reach the island, then you get stuck.
