Not even an email saying hello for Christmas...
I quit trying a few years ago, screw them.

@JimminyChristmas I feel like they would probably say something like... I didn't think you'd want to come. I know they would say that. My brother is in prison and my mother is already making plans for him to spend Christmas with him and the rest of the family.

@lucetta12 Even if you don't go, it seems like common courtesy should dictate that they ask. Sorry you feel left out.😞
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
@JimminyChristmas exactly. The thing is, I wouldn't of even went. Thanks

I cut off with whatever family I had left. I dont have family anyways. Just a few cousins who are too busy with their lives. Everyone else passed away.

I get invited to the holidays. I don't go.

@SW-User You should. Its free food and drinks afterall

Nope never. My mom tries inviting me then the rest of the family doesn't want the 'embarrassment I cause them' so I wouldn't go even if I was invited.
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
@MissBloodyMari I fell out with my sister about 6 years ago and now I don't get invited anywhere. For me it's more like my mam doesn't want me there and everyone else to follows.

@lucetta12 I've learned if they don't want to accept me, my wife our daughter. It's their loss.
LucyFuhr · 56-60, F
I get invited...selectively; sometimes I'm welcome, sometimes I'm not.
I rarely ever show up to anything though, so I suppose that makes the fam and I, even 🤣

I get invited for the major holidays by my son. But there are ways to overcome your own situation. If you would like to see your family, and if they are people you enjoy being around, you should invite them over to your place. It usually works both ways. You can do a pot luck.

@lucetta12 It's the thought that counts, right? And it sort of stings that they didn't invite you this one time when you needed them. But that is exactly why you should invite them to your home. Friendship and love, even inside a family, usually starts with one person extending a hand. You already know that they have given up on you. Perhaps it's time to extend a hand.

@lucetta12 Oh my goodness. Perhaps you had better start small. I would begin by just sending a card with your news, and end with..."I think about you at the holidays, and wish I could see you again." Make sure they have your address and your phone number. If they never write back then I would just write them off.

Hey it happens. Why would u want to go where u are not wanted?
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
@JustLikeGreta I don't anymore. I'd just like to know why.

I'm taking it that for some reason or another, you have been labeled as the black sheep of the family.
I know for myself, other than my mom (my father passed away in January 0f 2017), I seldom speak to or visit with other family members. But that in part I can attribute to a degree to my job as a professional driver in the transportation industry. Asides from that, there are a few family members I never really liked growing up. So I have no interest in seeing them or knowing what they are up to.

Perhaps you never accepted invites in the past?
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
@SW-User I don't speak to my sister, so now they don't invite me.
