@RodneyTrotter The only problem is, that's not what modern psychology is saying. The only method we have of treating gender dysphoria right now is through transition. The day I attempted suicide, my dad sat me down and said, "You need to do whatever it takes to stay alive for the sake of your children. If that means transitioning, then that's what you should do."

@RodneyTrotter I'm not particularly committed to activism on this topic, so I have no major disagreement with you. However, please keep in mind that 41% of trans folks attempt suicide. I am among that statistic. For you, we are a mild irritation. But for trans folks in the closet, our visibility may literally save their life. I think that's why people like Daisy get so aggressive. We have a lot more at stake in the conversation than you do.

Of course there's a strong likelihood that Clan is just trolling to get a reaction, welcome to internet culture. Still, I think he made the point better than I ever could about why Pride is still necessary and why trans visibility is important. We are real people, and these sorts of conversations are actually damaging to us. I hope you will at least reconsider your position. 🙂
