Where does water that we get in our taps come from especially in Australia?

The only water I’ve seen in Australia, is the ocean, and if there’s pure water it has creatures in it!!! And the water we use has chlorine in it, doesn’t Chlorine effect our skin and hair and the gas from the use of heat!!!??????

Tap water is heavily processed water, in accordance with national legislation. In developed countries it is generally of a [u]very[/u] high quality, usually [u]much[/u] better than bottled water (!). There are very long lists of upper limits for toxic compounds in tap water (but not in bottled water!), which follows from local directives and ordonances.

I don't know about the situation in Australia specifically though, but I doubt there is chlorine in your tap water to supress germs.
