Have you heard of a new twist on the Phone scammers Saying they are from Windows Microsoft?

They are calling people saying they are wanting to give you a refund on your security contract that you have with Microsoft and they need your account number. I told them I didn’t have a contract and they continue saying that yes I did, that I could pull up my bill and there was a contract for security. And they want to transfer money into my banking account. Then I asked “Are you one of those telephone scammers from India?” Of course he says “no” but he hangs up quickly.

@cherokeepatti as I say no conscience they probably pick at random who they are going to try and scam as you rightly say not knowing them from adam and there financial position

Patti, when you take a nap, put your phone on Do Not Disturb mode. I do it when I'm in meetings, at conferences or in places that I can't have phone calls or texts disturbing me. Then I just take it off when I'm available. I never answer the phone if I don't recognize the number.

@iamnikki the jerks called back two more times while I was cooking dinner. One of them asked me what I was doing and I told him I was cooking dinner, that some Americans actually cook meals for their families. He said “I’ll call you back at a better time” And I said “I”m sure you will, Asshole”...

I'm glad he hung up. I have also read that if someone gets these guys really angry, they will call your local police department and report a meth lab in your house. The next thing you know, the police will be surrounding your house with guns drawn, ordering you to come out with your hands up.

@DrWatson I am sure the police are acquainted with that spoofing too. So I’ll come out and tell them they got a false call. They’ll smell chicken soup and listen to my birds talking and singing. Canaries can’t handle drug fumes, that right there would be something to consider.

@iamnikki Every week or two there is something on TV warning older people about these scammers. I’ve told them guys this and they keep calling. I think they are lazy low-life’s that don’t want to get a real job.
