Dear British People,

enough is enough.
Really. Stop making an ass of yourselves. You are nice and kind and lovely people, do you really want to become the laughing stock of the civilized world?
"The people have spoken", haha. Just accept the fact that Brexit was/is/will always be a textbook example of a crackpot idea that leads nowhere but down.
Now get rid of the Demonic Possession and come back home please. We Europeans aren't perfect either, and we will happily accept your sincere apologies. Just send us a bottle of Isle of Skye whisky and an annual subscription to the Royal Shakespeare Company, and we will be fine. See you in Paris/Berlin/Rome next summer, let's get drunk [and I [u]mean[/u] drunk!], and let's have a good laugh together, about this present madness. 🌷

@samueltyler2 Well, Helen’s point was about the present. I doubt Mr Murdoch is still compos mentis. As to the past, I don’t think Murdoch’s papers were of unusually poor quality, by contemporary standards. And as I have already pointed out, The Times has been consistently anti-Brexit.

@Platinum You will have to find new friends, after leaving and offending your real friends. Mr. Trump lies in wait, lurking.
You might also become good friends with Mr. Putin, who wants to destroy the EU anyway. Oh did I mention Mr. Erdogan?
You need allies, and you are free to chose between these wonderful examples of real democrats, now that you were able to break free from the despotism of those tyrants in Brussels.

@helenS I am very frightened about the future. We, humans, have too long a legacy of war. I believe that things like NATO and the EU have helped prevent such.

@samueltyler2 Yes. NATO and EU are the most important peace projects on the planet, and they are both under attack.
NATO has been declared obsolete by the president of the United States of America.
Democracy is under attack. 😐

@helenS Puton is crying with laughter at what is happening. His big goal was to have NATO disbanded and the EU break apart, so he could reclaim the countries of the old Soviet Union. The world's response to the Ukraine/Crimea showed him he could probably succeed, and our US president doesn't seem to want to counter Putin.

They try to replace democracy by what they call "real democracy". To me Brexit is part of their plot.

@helenS I am very frightened that you are correct. I can't figure out what our president wants? Is his intention to totally destroy our republic and install his family as royalty? Why does he feel it really necessary to so destroy the belief in science? At least he needs to be honest when he relaxes the regulations that now allow farmers to dump their pesticides and fertilizers into their steams and tell people that he is "balancing" their bad effects with some sort of economical windfall for the farmers! Then explain why so many small farmers are going bankrupt and his friends the big farm conglomerates are buying them all up.

@helenS As opposed to remainers, who for some time tried to replace ordinary democracy with a new kind in which the result only counted if they won. One woman, I’ve just forgotten who it was, actually argued in all seriousness that leavers, or at least some of them, shouldn’t be allowed to vote because they were too stupid or uneducated to understand the arguments. Remind you of anyone?
