Eating veggie burgers or veggie hot dogs that are made in the USA, is not actually a turn toward going 'vegan' when it comes to altering one's diet away from meat.
Just as American beef contains growth hormones which are fed to the animals during the production of beef cattle, herbicides that are used on vegetable plantations particularly in California, are called "forever chemicals", That means they remain active as a chemical herbicide even after you've eaten the vegetables that the ground and crop was sprayed with during the crop's production cycle on the farm.
Those "forever" herbicides then stay within the human body indefinitely, just as animal growth hormones stay within the human body indefinitely.
