What's the deal with "clowns"?

It's a meme.

I was at work last week and someone came over and said, did you hear about the clowns, and then proceeded to tell me they are scaring young children and acting like psychopaths. AH, another day USA style!

groups of people all over the US have been dressing up in creepy clown costumes and harassing people for a long time. a few people have died as a result.

every halloween people dress as clowns and do stupid crap that is eventually going to get them killed.
