TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Probably because "We need to eat the babies" doesn't warrant an actual response. AOC and her staff kinda just stopped the woman after a few seconds of her weird little rant, which was really the correct way to deal with the situation. And then the Representative said,
I think we all need to understand that there are a lot of solutions that we have and can pursue and have space for hope. We are never beyond hope.
She was responding to what AOC at least percieved to be the baby-eater's doom and gloom mindset. The woman who was freaking out basically said that the conventional solutions to the climate crisis could never work fast enough and satirically suggesting an insane solution. AOC was refuting the idea that conventional solutions wouldn't be enough. And really, who would be prepared for a freakout like that?
