Back when Denis Leary was popular, I liked him. Another example is the movie “Demolition Man.”

@SmartKat Yes Leary works heavily on the irony angle doesn't he.
That rant in Demolition man where he talks about 'freedom of choice' and acknowledges that certain things are bad for you but argues that the value of choice outweighs what others determine is good for you.

@SmartKat What are your thoughts on satire ?
Shows like The daily show or Have i got news for you.
John Stewart/Lewis Black/Bill Maher/George Carlin etc.

@Picklebobble2 I love satire in general. And even though I don’t always like Bill Maher...I have to admit he’s smart.

@SmartKat Have you ever seen the BBC's 'Yes Minister' ?

@Picklebobble2 No, I am not familiar with it.

@SmartKat It's about a newly elected MP in the British Parliament.
He comes in with all his ideas and ideals. Keen to show that he's 'part of the team'. but he gets an Under Secretary and a civil servant to work with and they both undermine and confuse him in order to keep the status quo as it is.

You don't need to know how UK politics works so much but it illustrates just how frustrating it can be to [b]want[/b] change in a world where everything/one seems to conspire to ensure things stay the same !
