What do you think of people who overdose on cologne or perfume?
Do you think they have any self-awareness that they smell more than the average person?

I remember a weird night - I had left my husband and was living in my mother's house in PA. (She was in Alaska on a protracted vacation).
I could not find a job in that small economically depressed town. I had an 11 year old daughter to support and my now-ex was not paying child support - yet.
At last, in desperation, I took my bachelor's in English in hand and applied at the local newspaper. They hired me.
The job they hired me for was assembling newspapers (did you think they were born with ad inserts?) at night, of course. Most of my colleagues were on work release from jail or probation.
Getting dressed for that first night I spilled perfume on myself. A lot of it. There was no time to shower. I changed shirts and went.
Going to that place reeking of 'Today is mine' was equivalent to chumming for sharks by dumping bloody entrails into the water.
