Do you ever get the feeling that someone is getting tired of your 💩💩💩???

I drove to school & picked up the boy & took him to the library so he could study...came home and the feral gray cat is laying down under the Bradford pear tree in the front yard. We got out of the car & I locked it & the cat turned his head and looked at me and quickly looked back. Didn’t beg for food or anything. I get the feeling he’s tired of my 💩....which is not a bad thing. Have been feeding him a couple times daily once again for the past month (after he clawed me several times in the spring). Three days ago before daylight I heard cats fighting on the doorstep, that cat was there waiting for food at 6:30, opened the door and smelled 💩 on the concrete porch. Had to get my little flashlight to walk out to get the newspaper. Cleaned it up etc., the cat didn’t want to eat till evening probably because of the fight. So each morning before daylight I go out with my little tactical flashlight watching my step, and when I see the cat I point the flashlight at him.

Wild cats are just that. You are being used. But, in the big pic, you are doing a good thing by allowing that usage.

@Carla His little black-and-white cat friend started hanging out with him again and the gray one showed a bit of an attitude one day hissing and growling at me when I walked towards him with food. So now I’m teaching him a lesson. He better not take me feeding him for granted again.He gets an attitude when he hangs out with other cats.

@cherokeepatti maybe he is the gang leader:)

@Carla I don’t know but if he spits or growls at me again I won’t feed him for an entire day and see how he likes that. He’s been really nice this time up until then, he doesn’t raise his voice or whatever.

@cherokeepatti i think you really like this guy. I think he likes you too.
Ive read a couple of other posts about him. One day, he will rub up against your leg, then it's all over:)

@Carla He does that but I don’t dare reach out to pet him, he’ll scratch the crap out of me. I can touch the top of his tail but not pet him. He’ll never be a house cat and besides that I got 9 birds.

@cherokeepatti yeah...not a housecat, for sure. Y'all can just maintain mutual admiration.
Ive done exactly what you are doing. Had a stray feral tom that used to argue through the storm door with one of my male cats a hundred years ago. That scarred up guy came around for a couple of years. I, of course, fed him when he showed up. Then, he quit showing up. One too many fights over women, i reckon.

@Carla A neighbor’s white and gray cat comes over just about every day spoiling for a fight. I’ve ran it off several times...just a mean cat to do that, and it’ll get in my back yard looking for him or go to the back yard of the other neighbor where the gray one stays. Bit him once and he was swelled up and infected bad, had to give him colloidal silver in milk to heal him up.

@cherokeepatti there must be female cats around. Males will fight all the time when there is. Even if your neighbors cat is fixed, if there are females, there are fights.
Even gelded horses are protective of "their" mares.

@Carla I think it’s just a bully that wants to be top cat in the neighborhood.

@cherokeepatti or that...

@Carla I knew someone who took in a female cat and she was bullying the woman’s cat and both dogs. High-pitched squalling and bossing them around. It was at a dorm where I worked and she left to go on a trip and someone would let her outside every day. She started her crap with me and I talked mean to her and gently put my foot on her to let her know I wasn’t going to take it and she’d calm down and be nice to the cat and 2 dogs for 3 days. Then I had to do it again. I told the woman but she got rid of her anyway because she didn’t want to have to do that.
