Why do people place political correctness above personal pleasure these days?

Fear. Fear of their family and/or friends or co-workers or even SJW's turning on them and attacking them and bullying them. These days, the politically correct will even eat their own young if they do not conform...and conformity is what this is all about.

"Get in line!", "Say what I say!", "Do what I want or I will doxx you!", "If you don't comply, we will not allow you to live!"

@RogueLoner They are no longer liberals. Real liberals would never allow the bullying and would never allow themselves to live in fear. These are totalitarians.

@RogueLoner You had one revolution to get rid of the Brits. Now you need a counter-revolution to get rid of the Neo=Communists - the "Brown-Reds" as Boris Yeltsin used to call them.

@Moodswings Is it surprising he referenced it about where he lives? Its natural...but God knows it is everywhere even in Czech Republic - "Romany" not "cigani". I still say"cigani"! Also "Peking" not "Bejing" and Constantinople not Istanbul but of course the last is also a sign of wishful thinking.

@Moodswings Yes! You know I just heard it last month? Its great as was so much of the music then! GREAT response!🤗

But you know...no one 50 years ago thought Leningrad would be renamed.

There is a anti-Communist-era joke about that...a Russian man come to register for his pension The official asks him -

"Where were you born?"

"St. Petersburg."

"Where do you live now?"

"Leningrad."

"Where would you like to live?"

"St. Petersburg,"

@Moodswings Its cool and a kind of mocking of PC even then! Though of course with more class than we have today.
