Any tips???

My dog learned to shake in a day, sit in a few days, and potty trained very quickly. He also learned to go to his bed quickly. In under a week. We have been working on lay down for weeks and he DOES NOT get it....I must be doing something wrong. How did you train your dog to lay down and stay?

Btw this is my first time training a puppy

Have you tried having him sit first, and once he’s in the sit position, then put your hand with the treat against the floor in front of him while giving the command? If he tries to stand up to get the treat, then try again and after he’s sat, place your (non treat) hand on his lower back firmly (not pressing) while you try again with placing your treat hand on the floor and saying the command.
