For those that drive, what is the longest you've driven on a single trip?

800 miles for me, and let me tell you once you get in the zone it's pretty relaxing and fun.

I left home 4am drove and did not stop till 7pm...Going to work out how many miles I drove but yes I did. That was my first stop and checked into motel. The next day I left 8am and drove till about 10pm stopped and did the same thing. The next day I left about 9am and drove till 3am and reached my destination. I remember I couldn't check into any hotel/motel as everything was shut and parked on the beach carpark and few minutes later cops came and asked what I am doing there lol....It was crazy but I was young and determined

@suchaslife I was an OTR truck driver when I was about your age...I regularly made trips from Greensboro NC. to Los Angeles and back (about 6000 miles round trip) and that didn't include where they sent me while out there or where I had to go when I returned. I did it because I was young, single, and it seemed to be exciting and adventurous (travel)...it was fun for awhile, I got to see places I'd never seen before. But though I was making good money, I'd be home one day or two if I was lucky and then have to go again (and I had to drive from home about 3 hours just to get to my terminal and again for that time after a trip)...it got old really fast.

@suchaslife I was totally done with it by the time I was 25, I started when I was 23. I always thought it would be cool to take a road trip with my wife, follow the old trucking routes and just take our time to explore and enjoy a lot of the things along the way that I didn't have a lot of time for back then...but I doubt seriously that will ever happen (and it's no big loss if it doesn't).

@Stereoguy Yes it would be....but it's not something that is even in the planning stages. Like I said, it would be no big loss...so much time has passed, so much has changed, and it would take a lot of time and money to pull it off (two things that we just don't have enough of for such an adventure). I just like remembering, and we enjoy just talking about it.😉
