How honest are you in self-reflection?

Do you recognize your shortcomings or what you’re doing that’s contributing to what ever is going wrong in your life? Do you take the time to hear out other people with an open mind and actually contemplate what they’re saying and consider if others could have valid points?

@MarkPaul Get to it!!

I’m brutally honest with myself and generally take the responsibility/blame for everything that happens in my life.

I also recognize that other people view things through their own lens and while they may have valid points, they also have their own biases and blind spots.

@summersong I think I’m pretty honest too and sometimes too rough on my self but just because I recognize where I’m messing up, doesn’t mean I’ll always make the necessary changes.

@dreamsicle making changes is hard work and doesn’t happen overnight. Recognizing where one is messing up is the first step to implementing change, though. It’s part of growing as a person and it’s supposed to be a lifelong pursuit. All-or-nothing expectations are unreasonable and unhealthy.
At first I was very poor at it, but then the evidence of recurring patterns and themes in your life make it harder to deny.

I’m now good at it, but taking a good hard look at our faults isn’t easy and can be painful and embarrassing. But all the same it’s necessary to improve our actions.

@LukeTheDuke Yes, but figuring out what you’re doing wrong can also help you feel empowered. Although, as I replied to Summersong, I don’t always do right, even when I know what I did wrong.

I´m doing my honest best to do it.

Heck yeah. Over the past few years I've recognized and accepted several of my flaws and habits. And yes, I always try to see other peoples' perspectives and consider why they may see things certain ways.
