Do you think a murderer should be executed if his victim's widow wants that?

I say an absolute YES to that.

No. Many people have been acquitted decades after they were executed. Better to jail someone for life. Even if it’s hard labour, if after years they are found to be innocent they will at least have some life left to live. You cannot unexecute someone.

@Digitaldroid All right, smartass. Acquit this guy and maybe I'll reconsider my question. But you must be absolutely and irrevocably right.

I don’t need to watch that sky news shit. A quick search on Wikipedia will show you all the (known) cases of wrongful execution around the world in the past 100 years. Better to be safe that sorry. Lock em up, make them work for their food and then at least if one day they are acquitted no one will need to apologise for killing an innocent person.

@Digitaldroid What about that scumbag? He killed an innocent person in front of his son. How callous can one get? Everybody in my neighbourhood wants that lowlife scum dead. Accept that.

@Crazychick I hear you. But just because this guy is guilty (on the basis of the cctv evidence) does not mean that every single conviction is 100% correct.
Furthermore, I think it would be much more of a punishment to spend the 30 or 40 years under lock & key eating the same shitty food day in, day out. I’m all for making prison more about punishment (especially for people convicted of violent or sexual based crimes) and less about rehabilitation. As an addendum.
I think a crime based on violence or sexual violence should carry an automatic life sentence with no parole.

@Digitaldroid Sorry, but you are too airy and impersonal for my liking.
