Do you know any asexuals?

It's called the Invisible Orientation. It's estimated that only about 1% of the population identifies as such. I've never met any in person that I'm aware of. Not that it particularly matters, but it goes to show how uncommon it is. You kinda feel like a unicorn sometimes.

Just saw one around but I’m sure it’s just a phase.

@DrScissorhands Ah, the old 'just a phase' trope! That's funny. It's the heteronormative way of straight up forcing your values onto someone else. Woman doesn't want kids, just a phase. Someone deciding they're an atheist, just a phase. Kid coming out as gay, just a phase. It's the tried and true weapon of suburban housewives everywhere. Brilliant! I love it
I’ve seen it. An 18 year old declaring they’re asexual then go full blown sex doll decades after @TinyViolins

@DrScissorhands An 18 year old isn't even done with puberty. They could still be figuring things out. I didn't realize I was asexual until I was 24
Which was the basis of my comment @TinyViolins

@DrScissorhands Well yeah, but saying you're sure of something indicates a pretty high degree of confidence
