That's normally how it works.

Flags are one on the most deliberately divisive things ever invented. The whole point of flags is to symbolise power and control - and the more people burn them that happier I get. I have no time whatsoever for people who feel so insecure in their own being that the feel the need to symbolise blind idolatry of their collective superiority by hoisting a flag in their yard when it is in fact the very epitome of individual weakness.

@ThePerfectUsername That's crap. Patriotism isn't about divisiveness and it's not weak.

@kingkyri Why ? I’d happily burn the swastika or Confederate flag, because of what they represent.

@kingkyri With the exception that no life is lost when a piece of cloth is burned.
I think they should deport themselves first

It is more than destruction of an object. Burning a national symbol can be compared to insulting a country.
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Lanyx I personally wouldn't, but those people are nutters.
Lanyx · 41-45, M
@Crazychick Not everybody or every organisation has good intentions. Burning a flag gets you a lot of attention very quickly.
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Lanyx Burning someone else's property, be it flag, car or house, gets a lot worse attention even more quickly.

Sounds fair to me 👍

If they burn someone else’s flag they could face charges. If they burn their own, they’re fine.

Crazychick · 36-40, F
@english English, stop telling people to stop being sensible and learn to be sensible yourself.
english · 56-60, M
@Crazychick how can you be sensible if your as crazy chick , 🤣
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@english How can I be sensible if my what as crazy chick? How is that supposed to make sense? 🤔

Most people have purchased the flags they burn, otherwise they could be charged with destroying someone else’s property. But some think it should be a crime even if it’s one’s own flag because it’s a flag.

@kingkyri I will never weep at the destruction of flags that only exist to symbolize my demise. And I don’t care who destroys them in making the point that they’re evil ideas.
DDonde · 31-35, M
Isn't that what people normally do when they do that?
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@DDonde I don't know. There was another question about flag-burning and most of the ones who answered it sound like they don't give a fig.
