What if it's not American though? 🤔
UckfayOuyayOotay · 46-50, M
@Quizzical That's sorta my point. Why only in America is there a special designation?
[@Mainly because in the U.S. we didn’t know. People who emigrate to the U.K. know they’re from Trinidad, Ghana, Nigeria, etc. “African American” was originally the designation specifically for people descended from African slaves. Newer immigrants call themselves Kenyan-American, etc.

No you can say black
When did black become not politically correct? I’m pretty sure black people say black people more often than African American people
UckfayOuyayOotay · 46-50, M
@ShaythePanTransMan You're right of course. My GF is Black/Asian and has no issues with that identity 🤷‍♂️

UckfayOuyayOotay · 46-50, M
SW-User
The correct term is "sheep of color"
UckfayOuyayOotay · 46-50, M
@SW-User I used to know a "person of color" who absolutely hated that term, lol
