Industrious, always stood his ground, spoke his mind ( with tact ), supportive, intelligent, adventurous, loving & more than I can sit here & type out. He’s the best, best friend I’ve had. I love him. [image deleted]

He taught us good morals, a strong work ethic, and integrity.

He speaks his mind fearlessly, even when his opinions aren't very popular.

He is very intelligent. He is very knowledgeable about history, and he understands a lot of things that other people don't. He can be very insightful.

In many ways, he often seems to be the only person in our family who truly understands me. My mom and all my sisters are extroverts. My dad and I are the odd ones out. When I was a kid, my mom always worried about me because I was so quiet. She actually felt that there was something wrong with me and wanted to "fix" me. My dad was the only one who seemed to understand that I just had a different personality from theirs, and that this is the way I was meant to be. I think he has also had to accept that because his personality is different from most people's personalities, he will often be misunderstood. I think that he has shown a lot of grace and quiet strength in accepting that, and perhaps that has helped me to accept that not everyone will understand me either.

He has often been there for me and helped me out, when I've been in need of a ride or in a difficult situation.

When I was in grade school and a friend of mine was being physically assaulted by a couple of boys, my dad stepped in and told them that they had better leave her alone.

Later on, when I was being sexually harassed at work, in my first job, my dad looked the man up in the phone book and wrote him a letter telling him that he needed to respect my wishes to be left alone.

He allows me to live in his house rent-free. That's about the only thing I can say but it's more than a lot of people get.

He was hard working. He loved his family, animals, and I miss him. He's been gone since 2011. 😔

Always there for us.
He laid down the law pretty thick and heavy

My dad is brilliant, kind-hearted, and hilarious. He also has incredible integrity and owe a lot of who I am as a person to what he taught me about for doing what's right, not what's popular. I also owe the fact my boss hates me to his sense of integrity as well 🤣

He's probably the greatest mind I've met and his health hasn't been great so I am so happy for every day I get with him.

The hardest working man I have ever known.

😬 well... he kept a roof over our heads...
Se: He's 16 years sober.

@PolyamorousPlaymates Mine is around a year sober now, and although it's entirely involuntary (his health crashed to the point that he physically couldn't go to the liquor store) sober is sober.

My father seemed to be a very intelligent man and has spoken about six foreign languages. So I´ve been told… 🤔
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Stereoguy My parents divorced when I was 4. And since then I´ve never seen him anymore - just twice I think, when he visited us. That´s why he was always like a foreigner for me.
He died when I was a teenager.

he was eccentric, but not in the obvious sort of way. he was very loving, and talented at many things.
He’s one of the genuinely nicest people I know. I posted a couple of pictures of him in my album.
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
He's put up with my mom for almost 40 years. He deserves a medal for that.
