So lemme get this " straight "

I get told all the time, supporting the LGBT community is the right thing to do, which I ain't got no problem with, IDC personally but when straight people want to be a part of the parade and have our own floats they get their panties in a bunch? Like wtf? You want me to respect your gayness with equality but you don't want to respect our right to be straight and join in the fun?

If straight people had been harassed, bashed, murderd, ridiculed, arrested for decades for their sexuality.... I say they get a parade.......

@Shutterbug Well said.
Piffypie · 26-30, F
@Shutterbug people have been killing each other since the dawn of man, doesn't matter if your, straight or queer, I look at it as a peace parade, but yet they don't want us to Join in cuz were " straight " they talk acceptance for us to them but don't want to accept us, it's like the million man March, didn't matter if you were black, white, red, yellow, brown, if you were sick of the horrible treatment that was happening because of race, you were more than welcomed to join, it should be the same way imo for this, but it isn't

your part in the parade is support, this is their time once a year to come together to celebrate their life style .we could all do better just in the every day treatment of them they dont want anything from us just to be treated the same as us.its not much to ask is it.
Piffypie · 26-30, F
@english they want to be treated the same way, but when we want to be treated that way, and join in they and stand with them, they call us names and tell us to leave? Like what?
english · 56-60, M
@Piffypie ok I cant comment your experience, but for mine when we go down to support them ,they give flags or one year boa s as we line the streets,in evening time there is a street party music and dancing all are welcome . that happens in my city for ten days .
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
Um, that's not the point.
Piffypie · 26-30, F
@CoffeeFirst and hwat is the point 😏
Yo miss the point. Straight people are not the minority or the oppressed. Straight people do not get overlooked for jobs because of how they look or their choice of lifestyle. Straight people don't have to fight for everything they naturally have that the LGBTQ+ has to fight for. Afford equity and equality to the LGBTQ+ community and the celebration this month is woudl need not be.

Congrats, you are hetero, what obstacles have you overcom ein the name of you being hetero?

I see it as having a rich pride parade going through a poor neighborhood. They've never been oppressed, had a severe advantage in life over poorer people, yet imagine they complain about being criticized for wanting their right to a rich parade to show that rich people are here...and they exist and they are proud to be rich. :)
That’s because straight people were never oppressed. No one gets disowned by their family for being straight, nor do they get attacked, or get denied certain rights/opportunities. It’s not pride for just being gay, it’s about celebrating the end of oppression, which heterosexuals never experienced.
All the people I have heard wanting straight parades are homophobic, racist, etc... So it is not really about equality but is a way of bringing legitimacy to oppressors.

Actually I know of straight people who have joined gay pride parades for solidarity with no problem. I mean how do gay people even know who's straight and who isn't?
The LGTBABCDEFGHI brigade are tools.. we are being over sexed to be eventually desexed..

why would a straight person want to march in a gay parade? It's a gay one. stop trying to invade their space.
i see what you did there. you make a valid point as well.
Why do you need to march in the parade? Can’t you just watch? Unless you’re invited to participate because you’ve been an ally, that’s different.

Just curious, did you help organize the parade, apply for the permit, etc.?

Well someone has to keep the pot stirred.
Don't act like a tool
I knew the LGBT community would have to give up their pretense of diversity sooner or later

@SW-User Ever heard of the million man March? Didn't matter if you were black, white, red, brown, yellow, if you were sick of the horrible stuff happening with Race relations back than you were more than welcomed to join, and that acceptence changed the world, but when a group wants equality, and says woah wait, you want to join in the fun! You're straight! Than go off calling us names like homophobic bigots, and telling us were not welcomed too, how is that equality that just puts us back at square one, you want acceptance and equality, it's a two way street
