Would you continue following your religion if you found out its leader was a child molestor?

Would you brush it aside or would you refuse to have anything more to do with it?

@english That was definitely a factor in me leaving the church. 😳

so you were following the leader and not the religion, doesn't sound like a true faith so yeah
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Jackaloftheazuresand Well it's leader is the head of the religion is it not?
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@Entwistle no, the founder is and even that is just the humans when technically it's the deity or force

All major and many minor religions have this issue.
I wouldn't follow religion anyway.

"Leader" meaning what? The founder or prophet? The current "head honcho"?

Seems to me that a religion isn't worth following in the first place if it can be invalidated by the discovery of "dirt" on a single person.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@SW-User The founder or the prophet. The person who sets up the religion.

These days anything can be called a religion. As far as Christianity, Jesus is the head of his church given to him by God. So your question is impossible if you’re talking about true Christianity.

I don't worship people, I worship God and nothing will stop me from worshipping Him

I would have nothing more to do with him
Straylight · 31-35, F
My religion doesn't have a leader.
