Will it be possible to heal the extreme polarization and political division in the United States? How could healing be accomplished?

Like hate often is, a lot of it is fueled by ignorance. The media are masters at de-humanizing their targets, and creating division. I think if everyone would turn off the lying "news" and talk to each other, and really listen, they would realize that we are all still just people, just trying to live our lives the best we can.
