What if your spouse doesn’t get along with the rest of your family?
You’re close to your family, but your spouse doesn’t fit in to well and is kind of abrasive.

I did not like my former mother-in-law at all. She and her sister mocked my son's name while they were drunk, and once she excluded my son and "forgot" to buy him a Christmas gift. She made my son feel horrible about it, because she was so loud and made such a big deal about forgetting him, and then she went and got him a can of tomato soup out of her food pantry and handed it to him. I thought he would start crying. He was only seven.
That was the only time she was right out in the open about it. The rest of the time she would bite me like a poisonous snake when no one else could hear or see.
I guess what I am saying is sometimes...not often...but sometimes you need to choose. Your spouse is the one you chose to be the father of your children, and it is he who is supposed to be the center of your NEW family.
My ex chose his OLD family, every single time. Now he is my ex, and I am glad.
