If an American, have you ever considered a move to Mexico?

And yes, I'm serious, I've been researching places to consider for about two years now and have decided on a town called "Guadajuates" (sp?) For about $599.00 a month I can have a two story apartment with everything included.

Have already visited once and was amazed at how sweet and happy the people are. This town has no real drug traffic problem and low crime rate.

My medical won't be a problem as the Dr. there assured me they will follow the same medication regimen. It's not a typical tourist destination with the hig prices.

Also a large number of American ex-pats living there already and they all love it!

Of course there will be some downsides like anywhere else, but all in all I'm pretty excited!

Maybe if I knew or was interested in Spanish. I'd much favor Canada though, even if I had to learn French for Montreal.
@ViciDraco Spanish is actually easier than French. But I do love Canada as I used to go every summer when I lived in the midwest.

@SAWYERandPYE ease of the language isn't much a concern. I just think French sounds better. Also, I prefer the Canadian climate of cold to the Mexican heat.
@ViciDraco I lived in N.D for wayyy too many winters so I'm the opposite, I will miss the snowy christmas time tho.

@SAWYERandPYE grew up in NW Ohio. Almost as cold and plenty of lake effect snow in the winter. In Florida now and not the biggest fan. But it's where work is.
@ViciDraco Ever hear of Chagrin Falls? My very best bud from here and EP used to have a horse ranch there. He died tragically of a brain tumor. So sad, he was in his early 30's,
