Client asked me Saturday morning to work mother’s day weekend? Crazy?

So I worked up until 10pm Friday night for a client. She texts me Saturday asking for me to work the weekend.. already had mother’s day plans Saturday with my mother and hubby planned a staycation for us in a nice hotel... I told her I was frustrated that I would have to cancel my plans and she didn’t seem to understand. Now I’m worried it’s strained our relationship.. but seriously who does that? She doesn’t have kids, and her mother has passed away which I get.. but to do that to someone else I feel like is really inconsiderate. Am I crazy to think that?
I would normally work any other weekend, but to me this one is a special holiday and we had a lot of plans. FYI I did work all day Saturday, we checked into our hotel very late.. and I cut my brunch short with my mom.. all thing I resented having to do

Well most people with common sense know anyone with a living Mom and children ,,today is special to them
Its more then just not caring about your feeling ,its your family too ,
But if it comes to messing up my job
then you have to weigh if the principle is worth damaging your job .
4 generations of Mothers are getting ready to go to church in our family right now ,,to my kids ,,its a big deal
My kids would throw a fit knowing their Grandma may not see many more holidays ,,if their Mom chose to work today
I think you should just give her a sick notice and go enjoy your Sunday with your mom.

Sounds rather demanding...I hope she's paying well

Your client sounds like one of those people who thinks no one else should be allowed to do things they can’t do, otherwise I doubt she would have asked you to work this weekend.

The phrase is, "No, I'm sorry. I already have reservations and the tickets have been purchased."

When somebody has the balls to be selfish on holidays such as this I have the balls to say no.

What is it you do for a living that you can't say no?

You should have said I have plans.I cant
God. I’m so sorry. You don’t need that.
