Guns should be for the military, not the regular person....and, since when did ‘regular people’ NEED an arsenal of weapons to defend themselves?
The other option, as Chris Rock said in one of his sketches, is to make bullets more EXPENSIVE! You can’t afford the bullet, you can’t shoot them!

@MartikaDuponte1 As someone who owns a great deal of knives that I really don't need, I can attest to sometimes wanting to have stuff just because it's fun and enjoyable. And I personally feel that guns are similar in that, sometimes, you just like them. I don't. But the fact remains that they're way, way too easy to get your hands on. When I was 15, I bought a gun for cash money with no questions asked. I was an illegal immigrant at the time. I walked into a gun store in Chicago, dropped a bundle of cash on the counter, and walked out with a loaded revolver. No waiting period, no background check, I wasn't even asked for an ID.

@BlueMetalChick WoW! Yeah, I get the idea of collecting because of fun! I have a load of Star Wars mugs for that very reason.....but, in terms of guns, it should be easy enough to make the guns, what’s the phrase, to deactivate them. Simple.
They make them useable again, that’s unlawful. Yes?

@MartikaDuponte1 Oh, you're talking about when they demill a firearm so it can't actually shoot, yeah I've seen that before.
