I'm more of a "not getting upset for very long in the first place" person, but on the extremely rare occasions someone evokes my ire, I generally see no reason to forgive unless the person seems to have genuinely changed sometime down the road. A lot of the rhetoric about "forgiving others for your own wellbeing" really just seems to be about not obsessively dwelling on grudges, which is something quite different that can be easily done without absolving the offender.
