In fact, in the jargón of Buenos Aires, Tano (cos Napolitano) is almost an informal synonym of Italian, afectionately used for friends of Italian origins / last names.

Buenos Aries is a beautiful city. We had the pleasure of visiting a couple of years ago. It was your spring and these trees with purple flowers, whose name I have forgotten, were blooming. @CharlieZ

@SW-User Besides my own partial branch of Italian ancestors (from other places in Italy), my Ex mother in law(an explosive redhead) father was from Naples.
So two of my daughters are also a bit "tanitas".
