Feminism is a trigger word apparently and its the feminists job to stop brutal rapes too...

How does that work?

[c=#7700B2]people hear feminism today and associate that with what it has become, a bunch of women who want special treatment at the expense of men. [/c]

@PlumBerries that's not how I understand feminism at all
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]maybe not but that is how most see it now [/c]
gol979 · 41-45, M
@PlumBerries including yourself. I would also disagree with that's how most see it too......that's how certain (powerful) interests want you to see it
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]so why do so many women now want nothing to do with it? or not consider themselves feminists? if it was all about equal rights for women, don't you think all women would be on board with it yet most women don't consider themselves as feminists now[/c]
@PlumBerries I have to agree with gol979, there are feminists and feminazis or extremists which you will find in any group... They certainly are a bad reflection and much louder but certain people use that to put the movement down because they are threatened or it is not convenient for them.
It will not work though, theres no turning back now

[c=#7700B2]I see it very different and yes because of certain people but those people say they are feminists and completely overtook it. I am all for equal rights but I don't see feminism as a movement that want that now. They don't fight for mens rights, only womens.. that isn't equal rights in my mind. [/c]
@PlumBerries they should be on board, everybody should be on board but because of the bad wrap it gets many women believe its something its not and are probably actually feminists, they just refuse to use the word now... It still means what it always ment reguardless of what some loud mouth crazies who hate all men and claim feminism say... I certainly am not on board with that but I'm not going to say 'I'm not a feminist' iam

[c=#7700B2]that is fair enough. I just cant associate myself with what I see as a hate group[/c]
@PlumBerries yeah I guess people throw labels around and everybodies idea of what they are are different and instead of having a civilized convosation like you and I just did they get into arguments
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]I hate that people argue over others having a difference of opinion. that to me is so stupid. I am glad to have a civilized convo when I can nowadays without getting harassed, insults thrown at me or blocked[/c]
@PlumBerries ikr, refreshing when that happens lol
