What are some useful things that can be made out of picture frames (besides using them for pictures)?

Instead of a picture, paper a very large picture frame with attractive wrapping paper and criss-cross it with ribbons. The ribbons will hold mail that needs to be opened, notes from friends, birthday cards, and so on.
