Bob owns a professional basketball team. Do you think its fair to pay the best player on the team 20 million, and pay the guy at the end

of the bench 1 million...... or should all players make the same amount ?? if you believe that none of these players deserve this type of money, then who do you believe should regulate the salaries ??

The players should be the owners of the team and determining their own payouts democratically. If they understand that a star player is a better contributor and vote for him to have more pay on merit to keep him on the team, then his pay is fair.

At a societal level, top marginal tax rates will be higher for the higher earning player no matter where he goes so long as he earns such high pay. He will still make more than others, but the higher taxes will go to improving the baseline quality of life of all citizens.

@ViciDraco Then the players should pool together and buy their team or create one. But they don't and won't so no they shouldn't own it until they buy or create one.

@MethDozer Then no team should exist until such an event occurs. If the need for the team to exist is not great enough to spur them into action then the team is not really necessary. There would be no buying of teams. There would only be creation, joining, and leaving teams. So long as you are on the team, you are an owner of the team.

@ViciDraco Then they should signup the money and do the leg work to create one. Until they so its great we have investors and entrepreneurs that do it. Or we would all be bored and players would be forces to stop playing after high school and go dig ditches or some shit. Investment and creation is worth compensation and is what makes things exist. Your idea sounds nice at first but it makes no sense and is a dead end. Its not like e an the lowest layer players aren't living high on the hog for playing children's games.

@ViciDraco Its born in the players abilities or means most often. They are athletes, not business.men with financial means.
