Because they can get people willing to pay for it. Because people need to pay for it. It'll all fall over at some point. It's unsustainable.

@Winnie prices don't correct that much. Especially rent. When people stop buying horses they need places to rent so rent doesn't really go down. When house prices rise, so does rent.
What has been happening is that both spouses need to work, or people need to get roommates. Young folks are living with parents significantly longer because they can't afford to move out.
The correction has all been people sacrificing quality of life.
