Does anyone remember the great Satanic Panic of the 80s?

It was "whipped up" by the news media, evangelical churches and politicians.

Looks like we might be going through the same thing now with a "NAZI Panic" or a "phobe", "ism" and "ist" panic.

Can history be repeating itself?

My mom burned my Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest tapes in the front yard. I remember it well.

@PrivateHell Wow. Was it because of what people were saying? That that music was satanic?

@Troy123 yes. People were seriously scared to death back then. They had a rash of teen suicides while listening to Judas Priest, and Ozzy was being Ozzy. So she told me she wouldn't allow that "satanic garbage" in her house.

@PrivateHell Was she also of the belief that cartoons like the Smurfs and Heman were satanic? I've seen videos of people claiming that.

@Troy123 no but she heard somewhere that Mr. Rogers was a child molester, so we weren't allowed to watch his show.
