Did you ever make a fashion faux pas and dress wildly inappropriately for an event?

When did you realize there was something wrong with the way you were dressed up?

A co-worker had a son who played in a band. I didn't know the genre of music he played. She invited me and others to come hear her son play his first professional gig. We knew the venue well. It hosted mostly supper club jazz musicians and quartets. We arrived that evening, all six of us dinner jackets, gowns, etc. The moment we walked in the door...wow! Jeans, t-shirts, chucka boots, multi-colored spiked hair, chains hanging from nipples, torn bras, etc. I wanted to leave immediately, and so did everyone else. But, because it was a co-worker that invited us we stayed. After about 30 minutes into the set...dance floor is packed! A woman walks over to me pierced all over, goth make-up, etc and asks me too dance. I LOVE to dance, but don't know how to dance to this convoluted non-sensical repetitive two cord rhythm. This was that head-banging punk rock tempo. Well, I sorta threw myself into everybody as everyone else was doing...took my jacket off and danced all night. It's true, when in Rome...do as the Romans do.
@RenaissanceMan thank you

fashion is wildly inappropriate. No amount of make-up and fancy clothing can compensate for a gold-digging personality, for instance. Lose the Gucci and spend the money on charm school, ladies.
