If a Woman hits a Man can the Man hit back ?

I suppose so. I mean, if he's beating her to a pulp, that's a different story. It would be no different than a physically strong man hitting a physically weak man.

And of course there's always the in-between option of slapping. In a court of law, slapping someone is treated differently than punching them.
