I hate when people say “I don’t see race, I don’t see color”

Nice try. You only get a pass if you’re legally color blind 🤦🏽‍♀️

To be honest, Though my mother is Spanish and my Father is Jamaican, and I was born in the United States of America, if you asked what I am, I would tell you I am a man and a citizen of this world. No one, or anything...puts me in a box! I define who and I am.

I think the operative word here is “see” as in you literally don’t see the color of someone unless you are color blind, or blind. I don’t factor race or ethnicity with judgements of people, but when meeting someone I do notice the color of their skin, shirt, pants, shoes (well maybe I’m not that observant), I notice the colors of our surroundings. Not saying anything about the person based on that, just that I “see” it. No boxes.

Put another way, if we met, then walked away and the police came up to you and asked for a description that included what color was the person (which in and of itself is so wrong because nobody is really white or black), would you be able to give the answer? @RenaissanceMan

@RenaissanceMan you’re confusing what you are with what you see
@Lackwittyname no one can 'see' race. I was answering the question in the context in which it was asked.
