Is it bad if I have a habit that I always check out men by looking at their ring finger?

I've been guilty of putting my ring in my pocket. I wasnt really trying but I was flirting and may have screwed up bad but my tan left a big white spot. I'm too goofy to mess around. Have to be led by the hand.
In other words checking out the ring finger ain't no bad habit.
