When he said "Strong Nations don't fight endless wars." That was pivotal for me, because I am by nature a bit hawkish, and the context of that particular zinger gave me a moment of introspection. We really do need to rethink our old habits of attempted nation building and intentional destabilization. We need to be so overwhelmingly powerful, that we don't have to fight anyone. When we make a retaliatory strike it should send shudders down the spines of any potential trouble makers. The overall fact that the speech had the effect of exposing evil as evil, is my overall favorite thing about it, but the aforementioned moment was my favorite 'section' as it were...

Pelosi wasn't paying attention - purposefully (and it showed). Pence was completely lost. No one knew quite what to applaud and what not to applaud (dems and reps). Some applauded gobbledygook, yet refused to applaud a little girl with cancer as well as some american heroes (rude!). Trump didn't know how to dread a speech. On several occasions he kept talking like a run-on sentence even though the subject matter changed. Trump managed to offend every single person in the room at one point or another (and kept a smug face). Hilarious!
