Which part of Donald Trump's State of the Union speech did you like the most ?

When he said "Strong Nations don't fight endless wars." That was pivotal for me, because I am by nature a bit hawkish, and the context of that particular zinger gave me a moment of introspection. We really do need to rethink our old habits of attempted nation building and intentional destabilization. We need to be so overwhelmingly powerful, that we don't have to fight anyone. When we make a retaliatory strike it should send shudders down the spines of any potential trouble makers. The overall fact that the speech had the effect of exposing evil as evil, is my overall favorite thing about it, but the aforementioned moment was my favorite 'section' as it were...

@puck61 Disregarding old habits will be difficult as they ingrained in the American psyche but I can see that Trump is slowly moving that way.

My fave part was at the beginning when he 'cold shouldered' Pelosi from introducing him :)
@Nimbus Did you catch where Pelosi clapped "at him"....When she did the 'clapping theatrics' thing?

@puck61 Yes, silly old bat 😁
@Nimbus You know...........Honestly, I would love to see this country with a lot less of the emotions that I chronically express here on SW. I hate baby killing, power lusting, ,propagandist, care bear fascists, chronically lying, socially irresponsible, emotionally immature, filching maggots, but I don't like the dynamic of perpetual confrontation and the scary fact that half of my country secretly fantasizes about killing the other half slowly and painfully. This country hates itself more than it did before and during the civil war. I'm pretty damn sure of that. I really don't like the emotional dynamic between the "right" and "left". I don't like it in myself or anyone else.

@puck61 Puck, as an outsider I am perfectly placed to observe what you have just said and I too am saddened that the US is dividing itself and I fear for the future there.

A similar situation may develop in coming years here over the Brexit debacle.
@Nimbus It amazes me how people can have the same ideals and values, and yet one is disproportionately 'collectivist' while the other is disproportionately 'individualist'. So one sees D as the evil letter and another sees R as the evil letter. I can itemize the reasons I see D as evil, and they can itemize the reasons they see R as evil, and yet it seems like complete insanity on my part as well as 'their' part in whole scheme of things.

@puck61 America has been at war 222 years out of 239 years since it became a nation. I think that a strong defense is very important. We have been dragged into wars that were profitiable to private entities and stirred up by world bankers. About time for that scenario to end.
@cherokeepatti We always overwhelmingly win battles, but wars are a different story.
Nimbus · M
@puck61 Extremes of anything political and/or societal will not satisfy all involved yet to invoke harboring the middle ground may prove to be 'too safe' as we thrive on disagreement yet are loathe to admit it ;)

There is no easy answer and maybe it's better to just go along for the ride and to enjoy it the best we can ;)
@Nimbus Well the socialists announced already that they fully intend to spend all their money time and energy to continue harassing the president, so I'm just waiting for the war to start. They are the biggest threat this nation faces. Complete senseless evil idiotic vile scum. As soon as it's official , I would be more than happy to deal with it Thomas Jefferson style.

@puck61 Their darkness is making Trump shine brighter. They are consumed with hatred.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti Hatred? more like EVIL!!! Killing ? Sorry that isn't hatred that is NAZI like EVIL in the first degree. The whole lot of them deserve the Nuremberg treatment.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 agreed, they have an agenda and I’d bet most of them have something they don’t want exposed in their background.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti Likely right but they don't even hide their evil anymore. They parade it like it is an honor.
Nimbus · M
@puck61 Socialists have always been at the forefront of political activism, more so than those who pursue more conservative ideologies.
Most revolutions were borne out of left wing policies.
That is not to say they are correct but maybe were the zeitgeist that lead to change via turmoil.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Nimbus Funnily enough the only revolution that can be considered a success was the American revolution. All the others just made matters worse.
Nimbus · M
@hippyjoe1955 You have me thinking now :)
