It's a pointless waste of money and time. There are far more effective ways — both in terms of security and cost — to secure the border. Also, this so-called "crisis" is completely overblown. It's nothing but another bid to rile up the right-wing base by stoking their bigotry.

Truth be told, Trump doesn't want a wall, either. What he wants is his opponents to be seen as denying him the wall he promised, which is likewise nothing but a tactic to stoke up his base.

@DunningKruger What state do you live in?
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Sicarium Missouri.
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@DunningKruger Do you think that problems that affect only Missouri are real or is it possible that different states have different sets of problems they face?
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Sicarium What?
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@DunningKruger Wasn't a complicated question. Do you acknowledge that just because Issue X isn't readily apparent in Missouri that doesn't mean other states aren't facing the issue?
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Sicarium It's a completely irrelevant question that isn't related at all to the question at hand.

@DunningKruger it is related actually. Canada is receiving them too .
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@DunningKruger It's only irrelevant if you lack any empathy whatsoever.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Sicarium No idea what that means, dude, but I don't really care what you think, so there's that.
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@DunningKruger Yes, yes, you don't care as you take the time to reply. Even your nonsensical statements of ego are dishonest. Seriously, what's so difficult about just being honest?

You have no idea what other states face. You have no clue about border violence because you don't face it., just like I have no clue how Cali should handle mud slides. That doesn't mean it's not a real issue.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Sicarium What do you mean "just being honest"?
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@DunningKruger That question seems totally appropriate from you. Waste of time.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Sicarium No idea what you're going on about now, dude.
There are those of the right wing, as there are of the left wing, but does that equate to bigotry? If in your opinion it does, you paint with a "broad brush".@DunningKruger

Your post alleges that those of the right wing base are bigots. Do you think that there are not those of the left-wing base that are bigots, too? Or are you just an anti Trump person.@DunningKruger
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@soar2newhighs Of course there are people among the left who are bigots. However, bigotry — against immigrants, against African-Americans, against women and so on — has become cornerstone of contemporary American conservatism. You are attempting to create a false equivalency.

Take this as an example. Jason Smith, a Republican representative from Missouri, yelled at Tony Cárdenas, a Democratic representative from California, "Go back to Puerto Rico!" He did this on the House floor. Setting aside the fact that Cárdenas's heritage is Mexican, not Puerto Rican, it wasn't all that long ago that someone in that position who behaved in such a risible manner would be expected to resign his position immediately, and if not, he would have been drummed out of Congress. Now? The right doesn't even bat an eye.

Steve King makes openly white supremacist remarks, but he regains his seat in the House anyway. The worst that happens to him? He loses his committee appointments.

Republican congressmen Andy Harris and Phil Roe met with Holocaust denier and white supremacy troll Chuck Johnson on Capitol Hill to discuss “DNA" and "genetics." Johnson is a eugenics proponent.

In 2017, there were 36 right-wing terrorist attacks in the United States. That doesn't include any of the mass shootings that aren't typically classified as terrorism.

At a GM plant in Toledo, white workers regularly put up "whites only" signs above restrooms, called black co-workers "boy," told them to "go back to Africa." They reportedly wore Nazi symbols on their shirts. Eventually, someone hung up a noose.

These stories go on and on and on. There seems to be no end of them.

You want to make the old "there are bad people on the other side, too" argument, bud, knock yourself out. Don't expect for a minute that it bares any resemblance to reality.
