as an adult who is a bully in your life?

Fortunately there is only one left, and he is a friend of mine in RL. He likes to try to make me feel as though I am inferior, stupid, foolish, a bad cook, (mostly because I am a woman) and lectures me whenever he is in a bad mood, usually for things I haven't done.

I ignore him for the most part, because I know that he is kidding (at least he laughed after saying something quite horrible, on one or two occasions), OR...and this is even better....it gives me an excuse to insult him, which I quite enjoy. If he gets under my skin, he is banished for several weeks and that usually improves his manners.

@DoubleRings He was a live-in boyfriend for almost two years, and was my dance partner for even longer. Let's just say I have a sentimental attachment.

Oh..AND after dealing with my mother and two abusive exes, he is an absolute amateur.

He sounds just about like someone I knew many years back. I rid that person from my life!

@aradia11 There are a lot of guys like him, and my friend is nice as they go. Two of my exes were like that, also. It's an unfortunate character trait of men with really low self esteem.

Yes You hit the nail on the head! Low Self Esteem!
That is the reason I took a lot of abuse at the time.
I was on a low energy in life, and that bastard took advantage. I rid him back in 1998.
