Do you wish you lived in a world without social media?

As much as I love using some social media websites/apps, I wish I didn’t. Not saying that I’m going to abandon it all, but I wish I never had access to it - like being born in an era before it, maybe. I feel like I’d be a happier person without it. I wouldn’t be able to let my curiosity get the best of my and look up an ex on Facebook. Or see a Snapchat story of an event my friends didn’t invite me to. I feel like it does more harm than good. Knowledge is great - in moderation.
What are your thoughts?

Hi- I think we all suffer from what I heard referred to years ago as the "RC" factor- "Resistance to change". Have an Ipod/Ipad or cell phone? If you do, and you lose or misplace them, don't you feel "cut off" from the World? Social media is like many facets of our lives, something that can be a double edged sword.

@soar2newhighs I have a simple flip phone and I have my laptop...that's all I need and want, and I do not feel in anyway cut off from the world. Life is not electronic and it doesn't need electronics to be worthwhile and fulfilling...our society and world has gotten and continues to get way too dependent on technology...and I believe it will eventually end in disaster.

I understand what you’re saying, and I even relate. As I said, I’m not saying I plan on getting rid of it all. I’ve admittedly developed a dependency/addiction of sorts. I was trying to say that I wish I hadn’t been exposed to begin with.
With the word moving as rapidly as it is and new technologies cropping up everyday, I feel they are whether we want them to or not, injected into our lives.@KatieKatze

@KatieKatze I admit that I am not one to accept change readily...especially if everything is fine and the change is not necessary. But I am not totally against change, I think a lot of it is necessary and helpful, and I'm all for it if it brings improvement. But there is also a lot to be said for the "old things" and "old ways" too...some of them were and are actually better than the innovations and changes. There is an old saying I'm quite fond of..."If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

@soar2newhighs I personally think our technology is advancing way faster than the average person is ready for it or able to handle it....that's just my opinion.
